Anyone using a vfd to run there 3 phase motors?
I have an old unisaw in good condition but it needs a phase converter to be able to use it. I know where to start but wanted to get another opinion before I get one.

I built a rotary 3 phase converter. I run a 2hp lathe and a 2hp bandsaw with no problem. Can build one at very little cost. When using a static converter you only get about 2/3 of the rated hp.

Have to make sure the 3 phase motor that you are going to run is 220 volt. Not 440 or 575 you can only make the current that is coming into your shop
