I can do a program on musical instrument building some time if you need an idea. There’s not much classical joinery involved, but it’s something a lot of woodworkers have enjoyed trying once or twice.

I’d say give the paid advertising a trial run. Make it clear to prospective advertisers that this is a trial and let’s see what develops. Thanks Ken
The only real requirement of a burnisher is to be made of harder steel than the scraper. Some high quality wrenches and screw drivers might do. A valve stem from an engine is reported to be a good alternative too. If you know of an engine re-builder they might have some.
I sincerely appreciate all of the work that the club members have done to continue the educational programs and the quick adjustment to a “virtual” setting. The $25 club fee is extremely reasonable for all of the information, guidance and experiences offered throughout the year. When COVID hit, I needed to give more assistance to my 90 year old dad (who was a WPAWoodworkers member for decades). I was not able to join in on the virtual meetings. Now things have settled down a bit with him and I am looking forward to participating in upcoming meetings .
Julie, thanks for your comment and support. I will look forward to “seeing” you at as many of the meetings as you are able to watch. Perhaps your dad can watch with you…

You all have surely done a great job in adapting to the new conditions that we are all seeing. I have an appreciation of the behind-the-scenes effort involved in keeping things running smoothly (even without the need to adapt) and I want to offer my thanks for the effort!
Craig, knowing your history with helping to establish and run volunteer organizations makes your comment and support all the more meaningful. Thanks so much.

This is still the BEST $25 I spend on one of my favorite hobbies every year. Worth every penny and more. Thank you all for your efforts to keep these meetings going on remotely during these unusual times and will look forward to the time when we can meet again in person!
Stay SAFE and HEALTHY!
Doug, thanks very much for your comment and support. I agree that the $25 dues is a great deal and we’ll continue in our efforts to be worth even more.

Bill,
The “virtual” meetings have been phenomenal. I am so appreciative of the efforts everyone has put into getting the programs together. I haven’t missed a one…except the one last month on “Band Saws.” I was really looking forward to it. I turned my computer on August 15 and tried tried to connect for nearly an hour with no success. I finally sent a note to Ralph Sprang who reminded me that the 15th was actually the third Saturday of the month. Embarrassed, I admitted to being elderly and forgetful. Being retired, and also coping with COVID-!, I find myself sometimes forgetting what day of the week it is. All that aside, you folks are doing a wonderful job in keeping the WPAWW going. Again, thank you!

Calvin, thanks for your comments and support. I’m looking forward to resuming our physical meetings when I can, once again, see post-meeting photos on the website that are tagged, “Photos by Calvin Wilson!” I’m sorry to hear about you having contracted COVID and hope that you’re on the mend, with only some minor calendar fumbling as a consequence.

I can only imagine how I could have used this years go when I was growing up on a dairy farm in West Virginia. I am really looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for all the work you folks did in putting it together.

Excellent video very informative. What if you do not have a burnisher? is there an alternative to one?

Thank you Bill. I’m totally in agreement with the decision to postpone meetings until a later (safer) date.
