B-I-G Dovetails

WPW member Bill James will present a program on how to cut large (2-1/2″ wide x 1-3/4″ tall x 1-3/4″ thick) single dovetails to be used in an unconventional way — as the sole joinery to attach table legs to a thick slab tabletop.  The fact that the tabletop is an elliptical shape with no straight edges only makes the problem more interesting. Bill will also discuss the inspiration/evolution of the design, demonstrate the process used to design and develop a test mock-up joint, and then show the steps of the subtractive design process that he used to achieve the final leg shape.
